Today I’m bringing you the piece I mentioned before, a scene of the beach from my hotel room. This was done with some chalk pencils I found in my closet a while back along with a white ink pen for the wave details and colored pencils for the fence pieces and greenery. I can’t say I’m super satisfied with this as a whole but it was fun experimenting with an unfamiliar medium. The thing I like most about this piece is how to clouds turned out, I simply created some white marks with my eraser and highlighted the undersides. I’m definitely going to come back to this medium again when I find a scene I think the softness of the chalk would really bring to life.
