How amazing that you hear me, Lord!
A world away, my brothers and sisters in locked rooms,
Gather and petition You wholeheartedly.
They are in danger,
And every word is spoken with intense devotion.
Surely they are more important,
Surely they warrant Your attention more.
Alone in her room a girl cries loudly,
Tears falling as she faces a desperate choice.
She needs guidance,
And every wail envelops a million words.
Surely she is more important,
Surely she warrants Your attention more.
I come to you meekly in little faith,
My eyes looking down at your feet,
And I whisper, “Help me, Lord.”
Surely I am Your smallest child,
Lost in the crowd surrounding Your throne.
All around me Your people pray and worship,
Projecting loud voices and powerful emotions.
I see the broken and the persecuted,
How insignificant I am compared to them!
Then I feel Your spirit upon me, Lord.
Even me.
And I burst into tears in Your embrace.
