Senses

How great is Your grace, dear Lord!
Such that You designed this world for me.
You knew my form even before the first day,
And even my very simplest existence,
Is filled with pleasures because of it.

I breathe,
So the world produces pleasing smells for me.
The salty smell of the ocean.
The rich aroma of the soil.
The freshness of rain.

I eat,
So the world produces pleasing tastes for me.
The sweetness of berries.
The sourness of citrus.
The savor of meat.

I hear,
So the world produces pleasing sounds for me.
The trill of birdsong.
The roar of a waterfall.
The rustle of leaves in the wind.

I feel,
So the world produces pleasing textures for me.
The softness of grass.
The smoothness of river rocks.
The warmth of sunshine.

I see,
So the world produces pleasing colors for me.
The reds of sunset.
The blues of the sky.
The purples of the flowers.

Lord, let me not take these things for granted,
Truly, You have made every consideration for me.
Even in the smallest details Your grace abounds,
Your caring hand is evident in my construction,
And my very existence is filled with Your blessings.
